Learn how to process flax into fabric by hand starting in the field!
In Flax: From Field to Fabric you begin with pulling the flax in the field and progress through breaking, heckling, carding, using a drop spindle to spin yarn, dying the yarn and finally weave a small piece of fabric.
This three-day hands-on course includes a drop spindle and a lap loom for you to take home to continue your journey after the class.
All materials and equipment are included. Cindy Conners lecture on Saturday at 4 PM is also included with your admission to this class.
Landis Valley Museum Master Instructors Joe Schott, Tina Mickley and Author Cindy Conner will guide you through every step. Registration for this very special class is limited. Class is held both outside and inside, please dress in layers appropriate for the weather. Please wear sturdy, comfortable, supportive shoes.
