The Purpose
We’re rallying fashion brands, retailers, designers, and linen industry leaders to pledge 1% of North American linen sales to the North American Linen Association (NALA). Your pledge supports the development of an environmentally responsible, domestic flax fiber system — from soil to finished product.
Why It Matters
No linen is currently produced in North America — but with your support, we’re changing that.
Flax, the fiber spun into linen, is one of the most sustainable and responsible fibers on the planet. It’s:
- Natural & Biodegradable
- Microplastic-Free
- Water-Efficient
- Exceptionally Durable
Yet despite its benefits, North America has no active linen industry. We’re working to rebuild a regional supply chain — one rooted in sustainability, transparency, and local resilience.
Rebuilding a Domestic Supply Chain Starts with Your Support
Your pledge helps us lay the foundation for a thriving flax and linen industry in North America. With your support, we can:
- Advance Research
- Shape Policy & Raise Awareness
- Develop Production Standards – Establish clear criteria for responsible, high-quality flax cultivation.
When you pledge 1%, you’re not only helping the planet — you’re investing in an organization you can rely on.
How It Works
- You are a member of the North American Linen Association – this program is only available to NALA members.
- You pledge 1% of your North American linen sales to support NALA.
- You send it to us quarterly or once a year. We keep it simple — we trust you to calculate what that is.

- A badge to show your commitment: “1% for North American Linen.” You’re welcome to display it in your store, on your products, packaging, website, or promotional materials to highlight your impact and values.
- Recognition as a Founding Supporter, including your logo and listing on our website, newsletter, and social media.
